The York Climate Commission convenes a series of Working Groups which focus on specific sustainability challenges or topics. These are self-organised and open for people to join.

Transport has a significant impact on climate change, and York's new Transport Strategy sets out to cut emissions and the negative impacts of traffic congestion and pollution while boosting active travel and public transport use. This group brings together representatives of transport lobby groups and local organisations to focus on supporting the changes we need to see in York.

Moving from Waste to a Circular Economy: Connecting and developing the established recycling and waste management networks of York, improving recycling efforts through identification of gaps, promoting resource efficiency through reuse and breaking down the barriers to long term development.
