University of York Sustainability Clinic
Fri, 03/21/2025 - 10:52

The University of York's Sustainability Clinic offers the opportunity for organisations to work with undergraduate and postgraduate students from a range of disciplines to tackle the sustainability issues that matter most to them.
We work with organisations (project partners) to define an appropriate brief which students will work on in teams over a 10 week period as part of this assessed module, exploring challenges and developing solutions which they will present to the project partner at the end of the process. Past projects have included but are not limited to Sustainability Action Plans, Education and Awareness resources and workshops, Biodiversity Surveys, Research and Scoping documents.
We are keen to offer the opportunity to all YCC working groups to work with our students through the Sustainability Clinics. Please email Angela Purdham, Community Engaged Learning Manager (ESAY Sustainability Clinic) at angela.purdham@york.ac.uk to find out more or discuss your ideas.
Timescales
We will be scoping projects from April 2025 ready for project start dates in late September 2025. Project briefs should be finalised by July 2025 with project agreements signed by August 2025.
Students will work on projects from September to December 2025 with final outputs presented to project partners in early December 2025.
